3. Concluding Sentence

The concluding sentence wraps up the paragraph by summarizing the main points or providing a transition to the next paragraph. It reinforces the main idea and helps to create a sense of closure. For example, you might conclude with: “In summary, the effects of climate change are profound and far-reaching, necessitating immediate action.” This sentence signals to the reader that the discussion is coming to an end and prepares them for the next topic.

• Transitions: Effective paragraphs often include transition words or phrases that help connect ideas and maintain the flow of the writing. Words like “furthermore,” “however,” and “in addition” guide readers through the argument. 
• Unity and Coherence: All sentences in a paragraph should support the main idea stated in the topic sentence, ensuring that the paragraph remains focused and coherent.
